The first domestically developed equipment featuring a 250 mm diameter two-way cartridge valve, specifically designed for the flushing backhaul control valve group project by CSIC Haiyue Company, has been successfully deployed and recently passed user acceptance. This marks a significant milestone in China's hydraulic control technology. The successful development of this flushing backhaul control valve group builds upon the earlier achievement of the hydraulic hoist system for the Three Gorges Permanent Ship Lock, the world’s largest ship lock, as part of the Three Gorges Project. The project showcases another successful application of large and medium-sized electro-hydraulic control systems, demonstrating advanced valve and integration technologies. This particular valve group utilizes a 250 mm diameter two-way cartridge valve, which is twice the size of the 125 mm valves used in the Three Gorges project. It controls oil pressure, flow, and direction through mechanical leverage, enabling the forging hammer to perform both free-fall and vertical lifting motions, thus achieving precise forging actions. As a key component developed for Liaoyang Heavy Industry Group and installed in a 3,000-ton hydraulic block forging machine, this valve group features high technical standards, fast response times, and a high level of integration. Its development is rare among domestic manufacturers, as such equipment was previously imported. The 704 Hydraulics Institute has a long history in hydraulic technology. Since the 1980s, it has been at the forefront of research and development in this field, including the production of the first two-way cartridge valve in China. Following the successful bid by 704 Haiyue Company, the hydraulic hoist system for the Three Gorges Permanent Ship Lock was developed and has been in continuous operation for over 1,865 days, proving its reliability and performance. This breakthrough not only enhances domestic capabilities in hydraulic control systems but also reduces dependency on foreign suppliers, paving the way for future advancements in heavy industrial automation.
