The EJK211 digital roving machine, a breakthrough product developed independently by Shanghai Second Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. under the Pacific Electromechanical Group, has made significant contributions to China's textile machinery industry. This next-generation four-motor variable frequency drive system introduces advanced automation and intelligence, enhancing efficiency and precision in the spinning process. The machine features four high-performance motors that directly drive the flyer, bobbin, roller, and dragon ribs, while a computer-controlled system synchronizes the inverters based on pre-set process curves. This innovation places the technology at the forefront of domestic textile machinery. In recent years, through extensive market research and collaboration with Austrian B&R Industrial Automation Company and local cotton spinning enterprises, the company has successfully introduced highly automated and intelligent digital solutions. Two key technologies stand out: first, the new roving frame replaces traditional mechanical tensioning mechanisms with an electronic iron cannon, utilizing B&R’s advanced PPC program controller to precisely calculate motion formulas and adjust the winding motor speed for accurate tension control. Second, the machine includes a power-off synchronization function, where the energy generated by the motor during shutdown allows the PCC controller to continue operating briefly, ensuring smooth and stable stopping of the winding motor without disrupting production or affecting yarn tension. User feedback over the past two years has been overwhelmingly positive, with the EJK211’s digital features receiving strong recognition. By integrating fieldbus technology, computer control, and opto-mechatronics, the machine significantly improves its mechatronic level. Its performance is comparable to foreign counterparts, with four motors driving the flyer, bobbin, roller, and dragon ribs. The computer controls the inverters for synchronized speed regulation, enabling spindle speeds up to 1500 rpm. This enhances flexibility and intelligence in the spinning process. The new transmission system uses timing belts to create a compact, efficient mechanism for the flyer and bobbin, forming a 6-spindle flyer and 3-spindle tube group. This design simplifies structure, facilitates adjustment, and ensures smooth synchronization via tensioning pulleys. The reduced belt tension minimizes noise and vibration, improving both spinning speed and transmission stability. Additionally, the machine employs high-efficiency motors and a DC common bus control scheme, ensuring precise synchronous operation at 1500 rpm while maintaining low power consumption—under 10 kW. With a user-friendly touch screen interface and intelligent parameter configuration, the EJK211 allows for full digital segmentation control of roving tension, making it easier to adapt to different materials and conditions. Following its display at major international textile exhibitions, the EJK211 has gained widespread recognition, attracting a growing number of customers in Shandong, Henan, and other key textile provinces. It has already achieved the target of selling over 100 units in these regions. By Liang Jianrong
