According to Liu Liwen, the chairman of the company, the project uses anhydrite as the basic raw material, calcined, waste residue to produce cement, and flue gas to produce sulfuric acid. The entire production system uses water to close the cycle and achieves zero discharge of “three wastes”. The main resource cost of the anhydrite sulphuric acid process is only 10% to 15% of the sulphuric acid, and 15% to 20% of the pyrite sulphuric acid. At the same time, the carbon dioxide emissions of waste co-produced cement are also significantly lower than traditional processes.

Using this innovative technology, the company plans to invest 500 million yuan to build a production line of anhydrite (300,000 tons/year) combined cement (500,000 tons/year) in Linyi County to create a new gypsum chemical base. The entire project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will invest 200 million yuan to build an annual output of 100,000 tons of sulfuric acid cogeneration 150,000 tons cement production line. The project started in 2010 and has now been completed and put into operation. After the completion of the project, annual sales income of 400 million yuan will be realized.

China has abundant reserves of gypsum. In the past, it was mainly used as a retarder for cement. The added value of the product was low, and its usage was not large.
