**Networking in the Age of Social Distancing: Enter the Virtual Trade Show** Being creative is key as different times call for different measures. --- **The Rise of the Virtual Trade Show** It's fascinating to think about how life would have been during a pandemic without the internet and digital tools. We're truly lucky compared to those who lived through the Spanish Flu of 1918. These challenging times have forced us to rethink how we connect, collaborate, and do business — and that’s not all bad. Platforms like Zoom, webinars, and social media have become essential for keeping businesses running and teams connected. But what happens when it's time for big industry events like conferences or trade shows? Like so many other areas of work, it was time to embrace digital solutions and explore new ways to reach customers: enter the virtual trade show. --- **A New Opportunity for Nationwide Coils** Recently, Nationwide Coils had the chance to participate in the **NYSSFA School Facilities Managers’ Virtual Conference & Expo**, held on October 6th–7th, 2020. Though we've been a member of NYSSFA since 2009, we always faced scheduling conflicts with the annual event. This year, however, provided a unique opportunity — and we were ready. This virtual event brought together over 80 exhibitors and more than 200 attendees, offering a valuable platform for brand exposure and market insight. It was a first for us, but one that proved incredibly effective. The NYSSFA team did an outstanding job, providing all the tools needed to set up a booth and share marketing materials easily. We focused on the most commonly requested replacement coils in the school facilities market: **opposite-end steam coils, hot water coils, and chilled water coils**. To support our outreach, we made a spotlight data sheet available for download, along with our standard brochure and a preferred pricing program sheet exclusive to NYSSFA members. Even though we couldn’t shake hands or meet people face-to-face, we still made meaningful connections and expanded our email list. It was a great way to engage with a key audience without leaving our office — and it reminded us how much we can achieve with the right tools and mindset. --- **A Special Connection with New York Schools** When Nationwide Coils was founded in 2004, the **New York State School Facilities Association (NYSSFA)** was one of the first organizations we reached out to. We knew the importance of being an HVAC vendor for school districts across New York, and we’ve maintained that commitment ever since. New York is close to our hearts — we’re based here, we live here, and we have local representatives ready to assist with every coil need. The virtual trade show gave us a chance to strengthen our ties with school districts, some of which we’ve worked with for years.
