Around 12:45 PM on Tuesday, emergency crews responded to a fire at the 3400 block of West Madison Street. The incident occurred in a large U-shaped courtyard apartment building measuring 150 by 125 feet. The fire was reported in a second-floor unit and was quickly contained after firefighters arrived on the scene. A single resident was taken by ambulance to the hospital in stable condition.
Engine 44 and Ladder Truck 26 were deployed to sector 3, while Engine 95 and Ladder Truck 36 worked in sector 1. Firefighters made a swift response, preventing the fire from spreading further. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but no major injuries were reported.
