At around 12:45 PM on Tuesday, emergency crews responded to a fire at the 3400 block of West Madison Street in a large U-shaped apartment complex measuring 150 by 125 feet. The fire was reported in a second-floor unit and was quickly contained after firefighters arrived on scene. One resident was taken by ambulance to the hospital in stable condition. Engine 44 and Truck 26 were assigned to sector 3, while Engine 95 and Truck 36 worked in sector 1. Firefighters were seen working swiftly to prevent the spread of flames, and the situation appears to be under control.
