This message comes from Andy Russell:

On Saturday night, Peotone Squad 14 was involved in an accident while responding to a scene on I-57. The fire truck sustained considerable damage to the rear driver’s side corner and will be out of service for several weeks while repairs are completed. This incident is a sobering reminder for all drivers to slow down, stay alert, and give space to emergency vehicles on the road. It also highlights the importance of firefighters taking extra precautions to secure their scene and protect themselves and others.

It's always heartbreaking to see emergency vehicles damaged, especially when they're doing their job to help others. The crew at Peotone Fire Department deserves recognition for their dedication and bravery. Let this be a wake-up call for all of us to drive more carefully, especially near roadside emergencies. Your actions can make a big difference in keeping first responders safe.
