Larry Shapiro recently visited Aurora to capture some photos of their newly delivered fire vehicles. Among them were three impressive additions that have now joined the department's fleet.
First up is Engine 1, which has been upgraded with a brand-new 2012 E-ONE Cyclone II MFD 1500/750/30B top-mount engine, bearing the serial number so#137594 and the Aurora ID 33-855. This powerful piece of equipment replaces the older model that had been serving the community for years. Previously, Engine 1 was equipped with a 1992 E-ONE Protector TC 1500/750/50, a reliable workhorse during its tenure. Interestingly, there was even an earlier version from back in 1975, featuring a Hendrickson 1871S/Pierce 1250/750 setup. Next, Engine 10 has also undergone a transformation with another 2012 E-ONE Cyclone II MFD 1500/750/30B top-mount engine, identified by the serial number so#137595 and Aurora ID 33-845. The previous unit assigned to Engine 10, Aurora ID 33-877, was previously highlighted in an earlier blog post. Before this, Engine 10 relied on a 1996 E-ONE Protector TC 1500/750/50, which had served the department faithfully for many years.
Finally, Truck 6 has received a fresh addition in the form of a 2012 E-ONE Cyclone II MFD 0/0 HP95 RM tower ladder, with the serial number so#137593 and Aurora ID 33-827. This new vehicle marks a significant upgrade from the previous 1998 tower ladder mounted on a Hurricane chassis.
