The pile driver consists of a pile hammer, a pile frame and ancillary equipment. The pile hammer is attached between two parallel vertical guide rods (commonly known as gantry) at the front of the pile frame, and lifted with a lifting hook. The pile frame is a steel structure tower with a winch at the rear to lift the pile and pile hammer. In front of the pile frame, there are two guide frames composed of guide rods to control the piling direction so that the piles accurately penetrate into the stratum according to the design position. The basic technical parameters of the pile driver are the impact part weight, impact kinetic energy and impact frequency. The power source of the pile hammer can be divided into drop hammer, steam hammer, diesel hammer, hydraulic hammer and so on.
