(1) Direct determination of core

The premise of determining the oil saturation in the core is to obtain a core that maintains the original oil state of the reservoir. For this reason, oil-based mud is usually used for core drilling or closed coring, and according to strict operating procedures, qualified rock samples with high sealing rate are obtained, and water saturation is measured in time. Common methods for directly measuring core water saturation in the laboratory include distillation, dry distillation, and chromatography. The high precision of distillation method is an important method used at home and abroad, and can be used as the basis for comparison of precision of other methods. The distillation method is to distill off the formation water contained in the rock sample by distillation, and to collect and measure the amount of water distilled by a high-precision trap. The same pore size is then measured using the same rock sample to calculate water saturation and oil saturation.
