This initiative aims to provide strong technical support for building a robust upstream sector and strengthening the "Iron Army" of petroleum engineering. The development of petroleum engineering equipment should not only maintain existing manufacturing strengths but also accelerate the creation of a series of equipment and supporting software systems with independent intellectual property rights. Improving the reliability and stability of current production equipment is also a key priority.

According to reports, during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the group will follow the principle of R&D—manufacturing—application, intensify investments, and strengthen R&D efforts in petroleum engineering equipment. It will continue to maintain and develop existing equipment such as portable drilling rigs, quick-loading and quick-moving rigs, cementing units, Type 2000 and 2500 fracturing equipment, workover rigs, and geosteering systems. The group will also focus on developing integrated logging tools, drill bits, oil and gas gathering equipment, downhole tools, and steel pipe manufacturing advantages. Additionally, new equipment like drilling winches, rig control systems, coalbed methane drilling rigs, and automatic cementing control systems with independent IP will be prioritized. Timely development of 2800 fracturing trucks, high-temperature and low-pressure well logging equipment, deep-well logging tools, digital seismographs, gas production equipment, and supporting software systems is also on the agenda. The group will further improve the reliability and safety of existing equipment, enhance environmental protection measures for fracturing and sand mixing vehicles, and ultimately establish a range of branded underground tools.
