I was in the area when Park Forest, Illinois issued a Box Alarm for a working fire at 354 Winoa St. I arrived after the fire had been knocked down but managed to capture a few photos. The fire was reported in a single-family home, and there were initial reports of a trapped occupant. The first units on scene—Park Forest Engine 50 and Richton Park Truck 35—made an aggressive interior attack to rescue the victim, only to find that the person had already escaped and was safe. That’s a great example of how quickly crews can respond and ensure everyone’s safety. As a side note, here’s a shot of the new squad company in Chicago Heights using the X-Tinley Park engine. It's always interesting to see how different departments work together and share resources.
