The Tri-State Fire District responded to a commercial fire at 11S224 Madison Street in Burr Ridge on the evening of January 7, 2024.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from a one-story repair shop. They immediately deployed a deck gun and master stream to begin suppression efforts. Twenty minutes into the incident, the alarm was upgraded to a Box alarm due to the intensity of the fire.
Because of limited water supply from local hydrants, a tender box alarm was requested, which brought in water tenders from Pleasantview, Lemont, Plainfield, Homer, and York Center. In addition, Pleasantview’s hazmat unit was dispatched to manage runoff and prevent contamination of the sewer system.
