Zion firefighters received assistance from Newport Township, Beach Park, and Winthrop Harbor this afternoon as they responded to a house fire at 2408 Ezra Avenue. The structure, which was vacant, was fully involved and had collapsed by the time crews arrived. Emergency personnel worked quickly to secure the area and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes.
