On October 22nd, Shenyang Chemical Industry Group held a ceremony to complete the production and commissioning of the 130,000-ton acrylic acid and ester project.

Acrylic acid and ester industries have developed rapidly in the domestic market in recent years and have become important derivatives of the propylene industry, occupying an important position in the field of fine chemicals, with an annual market growth rate of 30%. With the rapid development of construction, textile, oil extraction, metallurgy and fine chemical industries at home and abroad, the growth of acrylic acid and ester consumption above production growth will continue.

The Shenyang Chemical Group's annual production capacity of 80,000 tons of acrylic acid equipment and two sets of 130,000 tons of acrylate production facilities fully utilized the Group's paraffin wax chemical company's propylene resources and public works. All of them imported Japanese Mitsubishi technology and started construction in August 2004. With a total investment of 1.29 billion yuan, it is the largest investment in fine chemical projects in the history of Shenyang. The construction of the entire project was completed in only 25 months, which created the record of the shortest construction period and lowest cost of similar devices in the country. The project is one of the landmark projects for rejuvenating Liaoning's petrochemical industry. After the project is put into production, Shenyang Chemical Industry Group can increase annual sales revenue by 2.3 billion yuan and profits and taxes by 600 million yuan. At the same time, acrylic acid and esters have also played an important role in Shenyang's petrochemical industry as well as in Liaoning's petrochemical industry, which has lengthened the industrial chain and effectively adjusted the industrial structure.

Wang Dazhuang, chairman of Shenyang Chemical Industry Group, introduced that after the assets restructuring with China Bluestar in 2004, the economic indicators of Shenhua Group have been growing at a double-digit rate every year, and sales revenue has doubled before the reorganization; from an annual output of 4 Tens of thousands of tons of propylene oxide and polyether projects were put into production, three consecutive expansions of PVC paste resins reached a production capacity of 130,000 tons/year, and an annual production capacity of 130,000 tons of acrylic acid and ester projects was completed and put into production. Large projects completed and put into operation were successively produced. After the acrylic acid and ester projects are put into operation, the annual sales revenue of the Shenhua Group will exceed 7 billion yuan. After the completion of the large-scale project of 500,000 tons/year of catalytic pyrolysis and ethylene production with an investment of more than 2 billion yuan, the sales revenue of Shenyang Chemical Group will reach 10 billion yuan.
