Chicago faced a major 5-11 alarm fire at a warehouse on the north side, which required a Haz Mat Level I response. The incident started overnight and continued into Sunday afternoon. Firefighters Tim Olk, Steve Redick, and Larry Shapiro were among those on scene, and they captured numerous photos and video footage that will be shared tonight and tomorrow. In the meantime, here's an excerpt from the Chicago Tribune along with two images taken by Steve Redick as he arrived at the location. **Excerpt from the Chicago Tribune:** "An extra-alarm fire broke out early Sunday morning on the Northwest Side, destroying much of a four-story brick building and drawing over 200 firefighters and paramedics to the scene, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Crews worked for hours to contain the 5-11 alarm blaze in the 2600 block of West Nelson Street in the Avondale neighborhood before it was finally under control around 9:30 a.m. Some crews are expected to remain on site for most of the day. The cause of the fire is still unknown, though it began before 2 a.m. and spread through the top three floors of the multi-use building, causing the north wall and parts of the upper floors to collapse. The fire also triggered a hazardous material response." You can read the full article [here](#).
