This is a report from Jeff Rudolph:

January 17, 2016
Around 8:00 PM, reports of a house fire began coming into FoxCom dispatch from the 2800 block of Glenarye Drive in Lindenhurst. When Lake Villa Fire Department units arrived on scene, they found a large, two-story home fully involved with flames. Firefighters immediately went defensive to protect homes on both sides of the structure. Additional help came from Antioch, Gurnee, and Newport fire departments, but due to a combination of high winds, extremely cold temperatures, and the intense fire already burning upon arrival, the home was ultimately a total loss. Fortunately, the neighboring properties only suffered minor damage. Jeff Rudolph

This fire was a tough call for the crews, especially given the harsh weather conditions. The firefighters worked tirelessly under difficult circumstances, and it's clear from the photos that they were battling not just the flames, but also the elements. It’s a reminder of the dangers and dedication that emergency responders face every day.
