Around 8:00 PM, reports of a house fire in the 2800 block of Glenarye Drive in Lindenhurst started coming into FoxCom dispatch. Lake Villa Fire Department units arrived to find a large, two-story home fully involved in flames. Firefighters immediately went defensive, focusing on protecting homes on both sides of the structure. Additional help came from Antioch, Gurnee, and Newport fire departments, but with high winds, extremely cold temperatures, and a severe fire already burning upon arrival, the home was ultimately a total loss. The neighboring properties sustained minor damage.

The conditions were extremely challenging that night—frigid temperatures and strong winds made it difficult for crews to control the fire. Despite their efforts, the structure was lost. However, the quick response and coordination between departments helped prevent further damage to nearby homes. It’s always a tough call when a home is declared a total loss, especially when it's someone’s home. The firefighters worked tirelessly under harsh conditions, and it's clear from the photos how difficult the environment was. These images truly capture the intensity and severity of the situation.
